I have been interested in hovercraft for some time. Living and sailing in the bay area I see large areas of the bay where the water is only several inches to several feet deep. Boats can't go there. Hovercraft can. If there were a comfortable hovercraft that seated 4 to 6 and traveled 60mph, people could commute across the bay.
They are a lot of fun also.
