Grid 1450 SX laptop "Cant Find Floppy"

Got a Grid 1450 SX when powered up,cant locate floppy drive,goes to default and then the floppy cant read nothing that I put into it,I got windows 3.0 ready to load on floppy disks,but the laptop cant read the floppys,it lights up but says retry and strike any key,cant read floppy,got any solutions!Thanks.
