Okay, heres the deal.

I have an old 1535 model here. Came in a case and has an auxillery battery pack and base unit... more info on the base unit would be helpfull. It had the old black screen problem and I was too lazy to match the beeping BIOS with the beeb-code for the PHOINEX bios on the thing. So I opened it up. Now the little black button to eject the internal bat. fell out (I saved it) and the rear ports are still wired to the back, preventing removal of the case. And of course the motherboard is under the keyboard witch means removing the screen.....ARRRRRG!

SO.... what I need to do is to finish the job of taking it apart, remove components, hook them up to another old machine of mine and see if they work, replace components if neccacary, blah, blah, blah, and basicly RIP IT APART until I can put it back together again and have her purr. I will probably run some old copy of DOS on it (NOT my rare copy of 6.2.2 becuse that doesn't support compression) or perhaps Basic operating system (if you look carefully, you can turn it in on itself= more drive space.)

To accomplish these ends I desprately need advice on how to take this 'ol baby apart properly and safely.

P.S. If you want rare copies of old OLD operating systems (that will work well on our super-old GRIDS) go to the link below.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give. The base unit I no nothing about but it would be intresting to use it (set up a small table/w external moniter and base unit?) so if you know anything please knock.
